Generic Name:chlorpheniramine and dextromethorphan

Tricodene Sugar Free prevents sneezing; itchy, watery eyes and nose; and other symptoms of allergies including hay fever.

It is also used to treat and cough caused by allergies, the common being cold and flu.

Tricodene Sugar Free may also be used for other purposes not listed in this medication guide.

How to use Tricodene Sugar Free Syrup

Tricodene Sugar Free may be used as follows:

  • Use Tricodene Sugar Free exactly as directed on the label, or as it has been prescribed by your doctor.
  • Take Tricodene Sugar Free in small amounts.
  • Always ask a doctor before giving Tricodene Sugar Free to a child as it can lead to death in very young children from the misuse of Tricodene Sugar Free.
  • Always measure the liquid form of Tricodene Sugar Free with the help of a special dose-measuring spoon or cup and not with a regular table spoon. If you do not have a dose-measuring device get one.
  • The chewable form of Tricodene Sugar Free tablet should be chewed.

Cautions before Use Tricodene Sugar Free Syrup

The following precautions must be taken care of when using Tricodene Sugar Free:

  • Be careful while driving or if you do anything that requires you to stay awake and alert.
  • Never use Tricodene Sugar Free for longer than recommended.
  • You should not get overheated or dehydrated during exercise and in hot weather if you are using Tricodene Sugar Free.
  • Avoid the use of alcohol if you are taking Tricodene Sugar Free. Alcohol can cause drowsiness.
  • You should always inform your doctor if you regularly use other medicines that make you sleepy and medicines for seizures, depression, or anxiety.
  • Never take diet pills, caffeine pills, or other stimulants along with Tricodene Sugar Free.
  • If you are taking a stimulant together with cough or cold medicine, it can increase your risk of unpleasant side effects.
  • Never take any other medication without first asking your doctor or pharmacist.

Tricodene Sugar Free Syrup Side Effects

While using Tricodene Sugar Free it may cause the following side effects:

  • fast, pounding, or uneven heartbeat
  • slow breathing
  • severe dizziness, anxiety, restless feeling, or nervousness
  • confusion
  • urinating less than usual or not at all
  • easy bruising or bleeding
  • unusual weakness
  • Fever
  • chills, body aches, flu symptoms

Less serious side effects

  • dry mouth
  • nausea, stomach pain, constipation
  • blurred vision
  • dizziness, drowsiness
  • problems with memory or concentration
  • ringing in your ears; or
  • restlessness or excitability (especially in children)

Tricodene Sugar Free Syrup Interaction

When certain medications are taken together with Tricodene Sugar Free, drug interactions could occur that may affect the effectiveness of the medicines or increase your risk for side effects. Medications that may cause negative interactions include Ditropan, Oxytrol and bupropion amongst others.

Tricodene Sugar Free Syrup Overdose symptoms

Overdose symptoms may include feeling restless or nervous, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, warmth or tingly feeling, or seizure (convulsions).
