Generic Name:Pseudoephedrine Triprolidine

Triptifed is an antihistamine which helps in reducing the natural chemical histamine in the body. Pseudoephedrine is a decongestant that helps to shrink blood vessels in the nasal passages as they can cause nasal congestion or stuffy nose.

Triptifed helps in the treatment of a runny or stuffy nose, watery eyes, nose, sinus, and other symptoms caused by allergies or the common cold or flu.

How to use Triptifed Tablets

Triptifed may be used as follows:

  • Always use Triptifed exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor.
  • Never use Triptifed in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
  • Never give Triptifed to a child younger than 4 years old as death can occur from the misuse of Triptifed in very young children.
  • You should never crush, chew, or break the tablet of Triptifed
  • Always swallow the pill whole.
  • Always remember to measure the liquid form of Triptifed by using a special dose-measuring spoon or cup and not a regular table spoon. If you do not have a dose-measuring device get one.
  • Shake the liquid form of Triptifed well before measuring the dose.

Cautions before Use Triptifed Tablets

People with the following symptoms should not use Triptifed:

  • Never give Triptifed children as death can occur from the misuse of cough and cold medicines in very young children.
  • Never use any other over-the-counter cold, allergy, or sleep medication without first consulting doctor or pharmacist.
  • Always read the label of any other medicine you are using to see if it contains an antihistamine or decongestant.
  • Triptifed can cause side effects that can impair your thinking or reactions.
  • Never drive or do anything that requires you to be awake and alert.
  • Never drink alcohol as it can increase some of the side effects of this medication.

Stop using Triple Antibiotic and call your doctor at once if you have any of these serious side effects:

  • Severe dizziness
  • Increased blood pressure
  • Anxiety
  • Restless feeling
  • Nervousness
  • Fast, pounding, or uneven heartbeats
  • Confusion
  • Urinating less than usual
  • Easy bruising or bleeding
  • Weakness
  • Fever
  • Chills
  • Body aches
  • Flu symptoms
  • Nausea
  • Stomach pain
  • Low fever
  • Loss of appetite
  • Jaundice

Less serious side effects

  • Constipation
  • Upset stomach
  • Blurred vision
  • Dry mouth
  • Dizziness, drowsiness
  • Sleep problems

Triptifed Tablets Interaction

When certain medications are taken together with Triple Antibiotic drug interactions could occur that may affect the efficacy of the medicines. Triple Antibiotic can interact with medicines such as blood pressure medication, an antidepressant and medication to treat irritable bowel syndrome resulting in serious side effects.
