Generic Name:diphenhydramine

Truxadryl is an antihistamine which blocks the effects of the naturally occurring chemical histamine in the body.

It is used to treat sneezing; runny nose; itching, watery eyes; hives; rashes; itching; and any other symptom of allergies and common cold.

It is also used to suppress coughs, to treat motion sickness, to induce sleep, and to treat Parkinson's disease.

How to use Truxadryl Tablets

Truxadryl may be used as follows:

  • Use Truxadryl exactly as directed on the label, or as it has been prescribed by your doctor.
  • Always take the medicine with a full glass of water. It can also be taken with or without food.
  • If you are using this medicine for motion sickness the dose is usually taken 30 minutes before motion with meals and at bedtime.
  • If you have sleeping problems take the medicine approximately 30 minutes before bedtime.
  • In order to get a correct dose, measure the liquid forms of the medicine with a special dose-measuring spoon or cup, not with a regular tablespoon. If you do not have a dose-measuring device, ask your pharmacist from where you can get one.

Cautions before Use Truxadryl Tablets

People with the following symptoms should not use Truxadryl:

  • Truxadryl is not expected to be harmful to an unborn baby.
  • Never take the medicine without consulting your doctor if you are pregnant.
  • Infants are especially sensitive to the side effects of antihistamines.
  • If you are over 60 years of age, you may be more likely to experience side effects from the medicine. It is likely that you may require a lower dose of this medication.

Truxadryl Tablets Side Effects

Stop using Truxadryl and call your doctor at once if you have any of these serious side effects:

  • difficulty breathing
  • closing of your throat
  • swelling of your lips, tongue, or face
  • sleepiness, fatigue, or dizziness
  • headache
  • dry mouth
  • difficulty urinating or an enlarged prostate

Truxadryl Tablets Interaction

When certain medications are taken together with Truxadryl drug interactions could occur that may affect the efficacy of the medicines. Truxadryl can interact with medicines such as vitamins, minerals, and herbal products resulting in serious side effects.

Truxadryl Tablets Overdose symptoms

Overdose symptoms may include:

  • Extreme sleepiness
  • Confusion
  • Weakness
  • Ringing in the ears
  • Blurred vision
  • Large pupils
  • Dry mouth
  • Flushing
  • Fever
  • Shaking
  • Insomnia
