Tetra Tannate Pediatric Tablets

Generic Name:Pyrilamine, Carbetapentane, and Phenylephrine

Tetra Tannate Pediatric is an antibiotic to treat several viral and bacterial infections resulting cough and cold and certain flu symptoms. This medicine is an expectorant and has the active ingredients of three medications of Pyrilamine, Carbetapentane, and phenylephrine. Pyrilamine is histamine which is commonly used for the purpose of reducing sneezing and watery eyes. This combination medication is used to temporarily treat cough, chest congestion, and stuffy nose symptoms caused by the common cold, flu, allergies, hay fever, or other breathing illnesses like sinusitis, bronchitis. Carbetapentane reduces cough and sore throat. Phenylephrine is histamine that affects a certain part of the cough and nasal passages which help relieve stuffy nose symptoms. It also relieves stuffy nose and ears by constricting blood vessels in the nasal air passages. This reduces the flow of fluid out of the blood vessels and into the tissues of the air passages. This product is meant for use among children.

How to Use Tetra Tannate Pediatric Tablets

  • Take this liquid form by mouth with or without food. Follow the directions for dosing on the label, or take as directed by your doctor.
  • Drink plenty of fluids when you use this medication unless otherwise directed by your doctor. The fluid will help loosen the mucus in your lungs. This medication can be taken with food if stomach problem occurs.
  • If you are using the liquid form, use a medication measuring device to carefully measure the prescribed dose. Do not use a household spoon. If your liquid form is a suspension, shake the bottle well before each dose.

Cautions before Use Tetra Tannate Pediatric Tablets

  • This drug may make you dizzy. Do not take alcohol with this medicine or drive, use machinery, or do any activity that requires alertness like handling heavy machinery or driving.
  • People who are suffering from diabetes should not take this medication.
  • Those patients who are suffering liver or kidney diseases should not take Tetra Tannate Pediatric.
  • People who have a history of asthma should avoid taking Tetra Tannate Pediatric.
  • People who have a medical history of a blockage in your digestive tract in stomach or intestines, known as a colostomy or ileostomy should not take this medication.
  • People who are suffering from enlarge prostate should not take this medication.
  • Those who have a problem of an adrenal gland tumor or disorder such as pheochromocytoma or Addison’s disease cannot take this medication.

Tetra Tannate Pediatric Tablets Side Effects

The side effects which may occur due to the usage of Tetra Tannate Pediatric are as follows:

  • Fast heartbeats
  • Nausea, Dizziness
  • Loss of Coordination
  • Nervousness, Confusion
  • Trouble in sleeping
  • Cold Pale and Clammy Skin
  • Trouble in breathing and uneven heartbeat
  • Less Urination

Interactions and Overdose of Tetra Tannate Pediatric Tablets

This product should not be used with the medications like MAO inhibitors such as furazolidone, isocarboxazid, linezolid, ulcer medicines, medicines to treat heart disorders, anti-nausea medications, topiramate, Tramadol and broncholidators. Tetra Tannate Pediatric may not be used with other cough and cold medications, beta blockers, tricyclic antidepressants like amitriptyline, aspirin and bladder medications.

Symptoms of overdose of Tetra Tannate Pediatric may include fainting, nausea, vomiting and seizures. In this case patient should seek immediate medical attention because unattended patients could result into death.
