Tetracap is a prescription antibiotic that is often prescribed for the treatment of bacterial infections, acne, and Helicobacter pylori infections. By decreasing bacteria's ability to make protein, the medication is effective at stopping bacteria from continuing to live and causing infection in the body. Tetracap has the active ingredient of Tetracycline which is a prescription antibiotic that is licensed to treat a number of common infections. Tetracap is most commonly used for the treatment of bacterial infections. A few of the bacterial infections that Tetracap may be used to treat include pink eye, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, and urinary tract infections. The antibiotic is also used to treat moderate to severe acne and Helicobacter pylori infections. Tetracap should not be prescribed to children less than eight years of age. There is no universally recognized off-label Tetracap uses.

How to Use Tetracap Tablets

  • Tetracap should be taken at the same time each day to maintain an even level of the antibiotic in your system.
  • Tetracap works best when taken without food, either one hour before eating or two hours after you have eaten. However, it can be taken with food if it upsets your stomach.
  • Drink a full glass of water with each dose.
  • For Tetracap to work properly, you have to take it as prescribed.
  • Make sure that you complete your entire prescription of Tetracap, even if you start feeling better. This will ensure that the infection is completely treated.
  • Never take outdated Tetracap. This can cause serious problems, as outdated Tetracap can be toxic to the kidneys.

Cautions before Use Tetracap Tablets

  • Tetracap can decrease the effectiveness of oral contraceptives.
  • People who are having liver diseases are advised to not to take this medication.
  • Patient who are suffering from kidney problems are advised to not to take any medicines.
  • People who are suffering from any allergies or allergic to the active ingredient of the medicine are advised to not to take Tetracap.
  • This medicine could be a dangerous drug to be taken during pregnancy.

The side effects which may arise due to the usage of Tetracap are as follows:

  • Nausea
  • Fever
  • Diarrhea
  • Vomiting
  • Skin reactions to sunlight or photosensitivity
  • Upset stomach or dyspepsia
  • Lack of appetite
  • Unexplained rash
  • Difficulty swallowing or dysphagia
  • Headache

  • Itchy skin

Interactions and Overdose of Tetracap Tablets

Drug interactions with Tetracap can change how your body metabolizes the drugs, contribute to severe kidney damage, and significantly decrease the amount of Tetracap in your system, among other things. A few of the drugs that can potentially interact with Tetracap include penicillin, warfarin, oral contraceptives, and simvastatin.
