Cancer drugs are commonly used to treat Cancer which is a diseases in which abnormal cells divide without control and are able to invade other tissues. Cancer cells can spread to other parts of the body through the blood and lymph systems. Cancer is not just one disease but many diseases. There are more than 100 different types of cancer. Most cancers are named for the organ or type of cell in which they start for instance Liver cancer, kidney cancer, Brain Cancer, Blood Cancer etc.

Cancer Symptoms could vary from person to person and the type of Cancer. People suffering with any cancer symptoms should see their family doctor or a specialist, who is a doctor in that particular type of diseases.

Some common symptoms which can be an indication to several type of Cancers:

  • Unusual Internal or External Bleeding from Urine, Vagina, or other related organs
  • A cough that doesn’t go away and gets worse over time
  • Constant chest pain
  • Coughing up blood
  • Loss of appetite or weight loss
  • Headache
  • Vision Loss
  • Stomach Pain
  • An unhealing wound
  • A swollen Organ

Prevention

  • Diets high in fruits and vegetables may have a protective effect against many cancers. There is a link between overweight and obesity to many types of cancer such as oesophagus, colorectum, breast, endometrium and kidney.
  • Stopping the consumption of Tobacco as tobacco smoking causes many types of cancer, including cancers of the lung, esophagus, larynx (voice box), mouth, throat, kidney, bladder, pancreas, stomach and cervix.
  • Stopping Alcohol use is a risk factor for many cancer types including cancer of the oral cavity, pharynx, larynx, oesophagus, liver, colorectum and breast.
  • Try to maintain a clean environment as environmental pollution of air, water and soil with cancer-causing chemicals accounts for  all cancers

Treatment

  • Surgery:
    Surgery is the main method of treatment of most remote solid cancers and may play a role in palliation and prolongation of survival. It is typically an important part of making the definitive diagnosis and staging the tumor as biopsies are usually required.
  • Chemotherapy
    Chemotherapy in addition to surgery has proven useful in a number of different cancer types including: breast cancer, colorectal cancer, pancreatic cancer, osteogenic sarcoma, testicular cancer, ovarian cancer, and certain lung cancers
  • Radiation
    Radiation therapy involves the use of ionizing radiation in an attempt to either cure or improve the symptoms of cancer.
  • Alternative treatments
    Complementary and alternative cancer treatments are a diverse group of health care systems, practices, and products that are not part of conventional medicine and have not been shown to be effective. Still there are some medications such as Adagen, Bexxar, Campath, Cytosar, Epogen, and many others.
