Taladine

Generic Name:Rantidine

Taladine is a prescribed medication used as a common antacid. It has the active ingredient of Ranitidine is used to treat ulcers of the stomach and intestines and prevent them from returning after treatment. This medication is also used to treat and prevent certain stomach and throat (esophagus) problems caused by too much stomach acid such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, erosive esophagitis or a backward flow of stomach acid into the esophagus gastroesophageal reflux disease-GERD. The active ingredient of Rantidine is known as an H2 histamine blocker. It works by reducing the amount of acid in your stomach. This helps heal and prevent ulcers and improves symptoms such as heartburn and stomach pain.

How to Use Taladine Tablets

  • Take this medication by mouth with or without food, usually once or twice daily or as directed by your doctor. It may be prescribed 4 times a day for some conditions.
  • If you are taking this medication once daily, it is usually taken after the evening meal or before bedtime.
  • The dosage and length of treatment are based on your medical condition and response to therapy. In children, dosage may also be based on body weight.
  • Do not crush, chew, or break the ranitidine effervescent tablet, and do not allow it to dissolve on your tongue.
  • Allow the ranitidine effervescent tablet to dissolve completely in the water, and then drink the entire mixture. If you are giving this medicine to a child, you may draw the liquid mixture into a medicine dropper and empty the dropper into the child’s mouth.
  • You may take other medications such as other antacids for your condition as recommended by your doctor.

Cautions before Use Taladine Tablets

  • People who are suffering from liver diseases should not take this medicine.
  • Those patients who have a problem of Kidney diseases are restricted from using this medication.
  • If you are allergic to it; or to other H2 histamine blockers such as cimetidine, famotidine then you should not take this medication.
  • Patients who are suffering from a certain blood disorder called as porphyria are suggested to not to take this medication.
  • People who are suffering from lung diseases such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease-COPD are suggested to not to take this medication.

Taladine Tablets Side Effects

The side effects which may arise due to the usage of Taladine are as follows:

  • Chest pain, fever,
  • Feeling short of breath
  • Coughing up green or yellow mucus;
  • Easy bruising or bleeding, unusual weakness;
  • Fast or slow heart rate;
  • Problems with your vision;
  • Sore throat
  • Headache with a severe blistering, peeling, and red skin rash
  • Nausea or stomach pain
  • Loss of appetite, dark urine,
  • Clay-colored stools
  • Jaundice
  • Impotence
  • Diarrhea

Interactions and Overdose of Taladine Tablets

Medicines which may interact with Taladine are atazanavir, delavirdine, dasatinib, gefitinib, glipizide, raltegravir, triazolam among others, azole antifungals such as ketoconazole. There are also some medications which may react with this drug are low-dose aspirin, NSAIDs such as ibuprofen, naproxen and others.

Symptoms of overdose of Taladine may include difficulty walking, severe dizziness or fainting. These situations would require immediate medical support.
