Cutivate Skin Cream

Cutivate skin treatment medicine generally used for treating skin ailments like eczema, dermatitis, and allergies, rash. Cutivate skin cream is also known as Fluticasone Topical cream, which reduces the swelling, itching and redness that can occur in these types of conditions. This medication is a medium-strength of corticosteroid. It is suggested people should not use it on the face, groin, or underarms, or for diaper rash in children unless directed to do so by a doctor. When applying this medication near the eyes, avoid getting it in the eyes because this may worsen or cause glaucoma. Also, avoid getting this medication in the nose or mouth. If you get this medication in your eyes, nose, or mouth, rinse with plenty of water. Use this medication only for the condition prescribed. Do not use it on a child for longer than 4 weeks in a row unless directed to do so by your doctor. Inform your doctor if your condition persists or worsens after 2 weeks.

How to Use

  • Take Cutivate skin cream exactly as directed by your doctor. If you do not understand these directions, ask your pharmacist, nurse, or doctor to explain them to you
  • Cutivate skin cream can be taken with or without food.
  • For Cutivate skin cream dosage, one must follow his doctor’s instructions.
  • It is important to take Cutivate skin cream regularly to get the most benefit.
  • Do not stop taking Cutivate skin cream without first talking to your doctor, even if you are feeling well. Even after your symptoms improve, you may require continuous treatment for quite some time.
  • Store Cutivate skin cream as per the instructions on the label.

Cautions before using

The cautions that need to be taken before using Cutivate skin cream are as follows:

  • People having allergies with medicines like other forms of Cortisteroids like hydrocortisone, prednisone stay away.
  • People with medical history of poor blood circulation should not take this medicine.
  • Persons having Diabetes
  • People with weak immune system
  • People who are going to have a surgery should avoid this medicine
  • Pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers
  • Children may be more sensitive to the effects of too much corticosteroid medication. Though it is very unlikely to occur with corticosteroids applied to the skin, this medication may temporarily slow down a child’s rate of growth if used for long periods.

Cutivate Side Effects

The side effects, which may occur with the patients, are as follows:

  • Stinging,
  • Burning
  • Itching
  • Irritation
  • Dryness
  • Redness of the skin
  • Stretch marks
  • Skin thinning or discoloration
  • Acne
  • Excessive hair growth
  • Unusual or extreme tiredness
  • Weight loss
  • Headache
  • Swelling ankles of feet
  • Increased thirst or urination
  • Vision problems
  • Hair bumps or folliculate
  • Skin infections can become worse when using this medication. Notify your doctor promptly if redness, swelling or irritation does not improve

Reactions and Overdose

Do not take any medicine that contains hydrocortisone or any cortisteroids medicines with Cutivate as it may form several interactions.

Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist of all prescribed and non-prescribed or herbal products you are using and adjust the doses according to it.

Overdose can happen if swallowed and the patient must seek medical assistance.
