Hytone

Hytone skin cream is a topical cream used for the treatment for various skin ailments and problems. It has the active ingredient of Hydrocortisone, which is a prescribed treatment for treating a variety of skin conditions such as eczema, fungal skin infections such as ringworm, athlete's foot and jock itch. Hytone skin cream is an antibiotic that works by preventing the growth of fungus or bacteria. Hytone skin care cream is a mild corticosteroid that works by reducing the swelling, redness, and itching that occurs in the affected skin. This medication should not be used in children younger than 2 years. It is suggested by the healthcare providers that to use Hytone skin cream at the same times each day. Continue to use this medication until the full-prescribed amount is finished, even if symptoms disappear after a few days. Stopping the medication too early may result in a return of the infection. Tell your doctor if your condition persists or worsens.

How to Use Hytone Cream

Use Hytone skin cream on the skin only. Clean and thoroughly dry the area to be treated. Apply a thin layer of the medication to the affected area and gently rub in, usually 3 to 4 times daily or as directed by your doctor. Wash your hands after using unless you are using this medication to treat the hands. Do not wrap, cover, or bandage the area unless directed to do so by your doctor. Do not apply the medication in the eyes, nose and mouth. It should not be applied more often or use longer than prescribed. Doing so may increase the risk of side effects.

Cautions before Use Hytone Cream

There are some cautions that are needed to be taken before using Hytone and they are as follows:

  • Before using Hytone skin cream, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or to other hydrocortisone and corticosteroids like triamcinolone and iodine, or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems
  • People having medical history, especially of Tuberculosis should avoid.
  • People having medical history, of poor immune system should avoid.
  • People having medical history, of poor blood circulations should avoid.
  • Those who are having viral skin or eye infections should avoid.
  • Pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers should avoid using Hytone.

Hytone Cream Side Effects

There are some of the possible side effects, which may occur due to the use of Hytone skin cream, are as follows:

  • Acne,
  • Excessive hair growth
  • Skin thinning or discoloration
  • Stretch marks
  • Swelling ankles and feet
  • Increased thirst or urination
  • Vision problems
  • Extreme Dizziness
  • Allergic rashes
  • Burning, stinging, irritation, dryness, or redness may occur in the affected area.

Hytone Cream Reactions and Overdose

Before using this medication, ask your doctor or pharmacist about all prescribed and nonprescribed or herbal products you are using as it may cause reactions with them. This medication may interact with certain corticosteroids and thyroid tests.

Hytone skin cream may be harmful if swallowed. If overdose or swallowing is suspected the patient should be taken to the medical center immediately.
