Lidex

Lidex skin cream skin cream is a corticosteroid based skin care drug used topically in the treatment of various skin disorders. It is usually employed as a cream, gel, lotion, or ointment. It has also been used topically in the treatment of inflammatory eye, ear, and nose disorders. Lidex skin cream is used to treat a variety of skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, allergies, and rash. Lidex skin cream reduces the swelling, itching, and redness that can occur in these types of conditions. This medication is a medium-strength corticosteroid. Lidex skin cream has the active ingredient of Fluocinonide is a topical steroid used for the skin. It reduces the actions of chemicals in the body that cause inflammation, redness, and swelling.

How to use Lidex Cream

Use Lidex skin cream on the skin or scalp only. However, do not use it on the face, groin, or underarms unless directed to do so by your doctor.

Wash and dry your hands before using. Clean and dry the affected area. Apply a thin film of medication to the affected area and gently rub in, usually 3-4 times daily or as directed by your doctor. Do not bandage, cover, or wrap the area unless directed to do so by your doctor. If used in the diaper area on a baby, do not use tight-fitting diapers or plastic pants.

After applying Lidex skin cream, wash your hands unless you are using this medication to treat the hands. When applying this medication near the eyes, avoid getting it in the eyes because this may worsen or cause glaucoma. Also, avoid getting this medication in the nose or mouth. If you get the medication in these areas, rinse with plenty of water.

Contact your Healthcare provider if your condition does not improve after 2 weeks of using this medicine, or if you develop signs of a bacterial, fungal, or viral skin infection. It is important to use Lidex skin cream regularly to get the most benefit.

Cautions before Use Lidex Cream

The cautions, which are to be taken with Lidex skin cream, are as follows:

  • Before using Lidex skin cream, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or to other corticosteroids such as hydrocortisone, prednisone or if you have any other allergies.
  • People having the problem of diabetes should avoid using Lidex skin cream.
  • It can be risky if Lidex skin cream is taken while in pregnancy and breastfeeding phases so it is better to talk to your healthcare provider before using this medication
  • Keep away Lidex skin cream from children.

Lidex Cream Side Effects

The side effects, which may occur using Lidex skin cream, are as follows:

  • Vision Problems
  • Sleep Disorders
  • Headache
  • Stuffy nose
  • Sore throat
  • Thinning or softening of your skin
  • Skin rash or irritation around your mouth
  • Swollen hair follicles
  • Changes in color of treated skin
  • Blisters, pimples, or crusting of treated skin

Lidex Cream Reactions and Overdose

Before using this medication, ask your doctor or pharmacist about all prescribed and nonprescribed or herbal products you are using as it may cause reactions with them.

Overdoses of Lidex skin cream can lead to symptoms such as thinning skin, easy bruising, increased acne or facial hair, etc.
