Mentax skin cream is a topical skin ointment used for skin problems. This medication is used to treat a variety of fungal skin infections such as ringworm, athlete's foot, and jock itch. This medication is also used to treat a skin condition known as pityriasis tinea versicolor, a fungal infection that causes a lightening or darkening of the skin of the neck, chest, arms, or legs.

The active ingredient of Butenafine is an antifungal that works by preventing the growth of fungus. Do not use this medication for the treatment of fungal nail infections. The usage of this medication is prescribed regularly to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, use it at the same time each day. Continue to use this medication until the full treatment period is finished, even if symptoms disappear after a few days. Stopping the medication too early may result in a return of the infection. Inform your doctor if your condition worsens or does not improve after the treatment period.

How to Use Mentax Cream

Use this medication on the skin only. Clean and thoroughly dry the area to be treated. Apply a thin layer of the medication to and around the affected area and gently rub in, usually 1 to 2 times daily as directed on the product package. If you are uncertain about any of the information, consult your doctor or pharmacist. Follow your doctor’s instruction as prescribed this medication to you, makes sure to use as directed. Wash your hands after using unless the area to be treated includes the hands. Do not wrap, cover, or bandage the area unless directed to do so by your doctor. Do not apply the medication in the eyes, nose, or mouth, inside the vagina, or on the scalp.

Cautions before Use Mentax Cream

There are some precautions and advises which are needed to follow before using Mentax are as follows:

  • Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to butenafine or to allylamine antifungal such as naftifine, terbinafine or if you have any other allergies.
  • Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of athlete’s foot on the bottom/side of the foot.
  • Pregnant women and breast feeding mothers should not take this medication with the permission of a healthcare provider.

Mentax Cream Side effects

There are some side effects, which may rise due to use of Mentax skin cream are as follows:

  • Burning Sensation on the affected area
  • Itching on the affected area
  • Redness on the affected area
  • Irritation on the affected area
  • Trouble in breathing
  • Swelling of Face , mouth and throat
  • Allergic rash
  • Extreme dizziness

Mentax Cream Reactions and Overdose

It is important for you to keep a written list of all of the prescribed and non-prescribed medicines you are taking, as well as any products such as vitamins, minerals, or other dietary supplements. You should bring this list with you each time you visit a doctor or if you are admitted to a hospital. It is also important information to carry with you in case of emergencies. Also, make sure that you are not allergic with any of the corticosteroids.

Dangerous overdose affects may rise if swallowed, if this happens the patient must seek medical care.
