Olux skin cream is a medicine used for the treatment for many kinds of skin ailments. It has the active ingredient of Clobetasol is a prescription skin medication. A topical steroid is applied to the skin that is applied once or twice a day. It comes in the form of lotion, spray, and shampoo. Olux skin cream is a type of steroid prescribed to treat itching and inflammation caused by various skin conditions, including eczema, psoriasis, and dermatitis and it is also sold in the name of Olux E skin cream. It comes in the form of an ointment, a cream, an emollient cream, a gel, and a topical solution. The dosing guidelines will vary, depending on the particular product, but this medicine is typically applied twice daily for two to four weeks. Olux skin cream works for most conditions by decreasing inflammation or suppressing an overactive immune system. Olux skin cream should not be used for longer than two weeks. The emollient cream can be used for an additional two weeks for serious cases of plaque psoriasis.

How to Use Olux Cream

  • The standard usage for Olux skin cream is a thin layer applied twice daily. The gel, cream, emollient cream, and ointment products are typically used on the body, while the topical solution is generally used on the scalp. None of the products should be applied to the face, groin, or underarms.
  • For any use, do not apply more than 50 mL per week for the topical solution or 50 grams per week. Using too much Olux skin cream, or using it too long, increases the risk for serious problems.
  • Olux gel, cream, emollient cream, and ointment are suggested typically used on the body, while the topical solution is generally used on the scalp.

Cautions before usage Olux Cream

The cautions, which are needed to be taken while using Olux skin cream:

  • Olux skin cream is a highly potent steroid. It is essential to follow your healthcare provider’s dosing instructions carefully, as overuse of this drug can lead to serious side effects.
  • Do not apply Olux skin cream to the face, groin, or underarms.
  • This medication is a steroid and can cause serious side effects, such as Cushing’s syndrome or diabetes. Although this is more likely to occur with oral or inject able steroids, it is still possible with topical steroids, including Olux skin cream.
  • Olux skin cream may slow down the growth rate of children and teenagers. Contact your child’s healthcare provider if you are concerned about a slow growth rate in your child.
  • Olux skin cream can suppress the immune system, perhaps leading to infections or other problems.

Olux Cream Side Effects

The side effects, which may occur while using Olux skin cream, are as follows:

  • High blood pressure or hypertension
  • High blood sugar levels or diabetes
  • Infections
  • Ruptured tendons
  • Psychotic reactions, such as hallucinations or extreme aggression
  • Glaucoma
  • Severe fluid retention
  • Signs of an allergic reactions

Olux Cream Reactions and Overdose

People, who are using aldesleukin or corticorelin, make sure to let your healthcare provider know before starting treatment with Olux skin cream as it may react with it.

Overdose effects may occur into high blood sugar levels, increase in body fat etc.
