Temovate skin cream is a type of steroid prescribed to treat itching and inflammation caused by various skin conditions, including eczema, psoriasis, and dermatitis. It comes in the form of an ointment, a cream, an emollient cream, a gel, and a topical solution. It is available in the brand name of Temovate E, which also used as a topical medicine used to treat skin ailments. The topical solution is used on the scalp, and the other products are for use on the body. Temovate is part of a group of drugs known as glucocorticoids, which are a type of corticosteroid (or "steroid" for short).

Although glucocorticoids have numerous effects in the body, they are used mostly for their anti-inflammatory or immune-suppressing properties. Temovate works for most conditions by decreasing inflammation or suppressing an overactive immune system. Temovate has Clobetasol propionate as the active ingredient, which is a prescription skin medication. It belongs to a group of drugs known as topical steroids.
