Generic Name:pramoxine (topical)

Tronothane is an anesthetic which is applied to the skin. It functions by interfering with pain signals sent from the nerves to the brain.

Tronothane helps in the treatment of pain or itching caused as a result of insect bites, minor burns or scrapes, hemorrhoids, and minor skin rash, dryness, or itching. Tronothane used to treat chapped lips, and pain or skin irritation which has been caused when one comes into contact with poison ivy, poison oak, or poison sumac.

How To use Tronothane Cream

Tronothane may be used as follows:

  • Always use this medicine exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor.
  • Apply this medicine to the affected area 3 to 5 times daily.
  • The cream, lotion, foam, or medicated wipe is applied on the rectum after each bowel movement to treat hemorrhoid pain and itching.
  • Always remember to wash your hands before and after applying Tronothane.
  • Always Wash the affected skin area with warm water and mild soap. Rinse and dry the area thoroughly.
  • To use Tronothane on the skin apply just enough of the medication to cover the area to be treated.
  • While using the medicine wipe to treat the hemorrhoid area and apply the medication by patting the wipe onto the rectal area.
  • Avoid harsh rubbing.
  • Always fold the wipe and leave it in place for up to 15 minutes.
  • Each of the medicated wipe is for one use only. Throw the wipe away after using.
  • Remember to shake the Tronothane rectal foam before each use.
  • Spray only a small amount of the medicine onto a clean tissue and apply it to your rectum.
  • Use Tronothane only on the outside of the area.

Cautions before Use Tronothane Cream

The following precautions must be taken care of when using Tronothane:

  • Never use this medication if you are allergic to pramoxine.
  • This medication may be harmful to an unborn baby.
  • Never use this medication if you are pregnant or going to be pregnant.
  • Never use this medication without telling your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.

Tronothane Cream Side Effects

While using Tronothane it may cause the following side effects:

  • Difficulty breathing
  • Swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat
  • Any new redness or swelling where the medicine was applied
  • Severe pain, burning, or stinging feeling where the medicine is applied

Tronothane Cream Interaction

When certain medications are taken together with Tronothane, drug interactions can occur that may affect the effectiveness of the medicines or increase your risk for side effects. Medications that may cause negative interactions include includes vitamins, minerals, herbal products, and drugs prescribed by other doctors. Do not start using a new medication without telling your doctor amongst others.

Tronothane Cream Overdose symptoms

An overdose of Tronothane applied to the skin or rectum is unlikely to occur.
