Thera Tears is a prescribed eye lubricant used to treat dry eyes in terms of producing tears in them. This medication is specifically designed for people who have chronic dry eyes and have reduced tear production due to inflammation. It comes in the form of an eye drop and is typically used twice daily. Thera Tears is normally known as ocular Lubricant drop comes in form of simple eye drop used to treat chronic dry eyes known medically as keratoconjunctivitis sicca. This medicine increases the amount of tears in your eyes when tear production is reduced due to inflammation. If you have dry eyes, your healthcare provider may prescribe Thera Tears. This medication comes in the form of an eye drop and is approved for use in people age 16 and older. It works by increasing tear production caused by eye inflammation. The other possible uses of Thera Tears include treating glaucoma, keratitis, and corneal melting syndrome.

How to Use Thera Tears Ophthalmic Eye Drops

  • This medication comes in the form of an eye drop. It is normally used in each eye twice a day, with 12 hours between applications.
  • Make sure to mix this medication well before using it. To mix the dropper, turn it upside down a few times. The contents should be white and opaque after mixing.
  • Wash your hands well before and after using this medication.
  • Make sure the tip of the dropper does not touch your eye, or any other surface, to prevent the dropper from becoming contaminated and possibly causing an eye infection.
  • Do not use Thera Tears eye drops if you are wearing contact lenses. If you are wearing contacts, take them out before you use this medication and wait at least 15 minutes before putting them back in.

Cautions before use Thera Tears Ophthalmic Eye Drops

  • You should not use Thera Tears if you are wearing contact lenses. Thera Tears is used to treat chronic dry eyes. Normally, people with this condition should avoid wearing contact lenses. If you do wear contact lenses, take them out before using Thera Tears and wait at least 15 minutes before putting them back in.
  • Although some temporary eye irritation, such as a mild burning sensation, redness, itching, or watery eyes, are to be expected when you use Thera Tears.
  • This medicine could be dangerous while taken during pregnancy.

The side effects which may arise due to the usage of Thera Tears are as follows:

  • Eye redness
  • Itching
  • Stinging
  • Watery eyes or eye discharge
  • Feeling like something is in the eye
  • Eye pain
  • Blurry vision or other changes in vision

Interactions and Overdose of Thera Tears Ophthalmic Eye Drops

Thera Tears does not have any known drug interactions.

The possible effects of an overdose with Thera Tears ocular lubricant solution include headaches, eye irritation, or vomiting. Overdose treatment will likely involve supportive medical care.
