Triotann Tablets

Generic Name:chlorpheniramine pyrilamine and phenylephrine

Triotann is an antihistamine and decongestant which is used to relieve congestion sneezing and watery eyes due to colds flu or hay fever.

It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your physician.

How to use Triotann Tablets

Triotann may be used as follows:

  • Take Triotann exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
  • Always consult your doctor before giving a cough or cold medicine to a child as death can occur from the misuse of Triotann in very young children.
  • Always try to swallow the pill whole.
  • Always measure the liquid medicine with a special dose-measuring spoon or cup. You should not use the regular table spoon. If you do not have a dose-measuring device get one.
  • Always make it a point to shake the oral suspension liquid medicine well just before you measure a dose.

Cautions before Use Triotann Tablets

The following precautions must be taken care of when using Triotann

  • Never use Triotann if you have had an allergic reaction to it or are allergic to any ingredient in this product.
  • Never take more than the recommended dose of Triotann. You should not do not drive, operate machinery, or do anything else that could be dangerous as Triotann is likely to cause drowsiness.
  • Never use Triotann alone, with other medicines.
  • Never drink alcohol when using Triotann.
  • Consult your doctor before starting Triotann if you are using other medicines,
  • Never use diet or appetite control medicines while you are taking Triotann without checking with your physician.

Triotann Tablets Side Effects

Stop using Triotann and call your doctor at once if you have any of these serious side effects:

  • Restless feeling or nervousness
  • Anxiety
  • Severe dizziness
  • Easy bruising or bleeding
  • Uneven heartbeats
  • Unusual weakness
  • Body aches
  • Fever chills
  • Flu symptoms
  • Nausea
  • Increased blood pressure
  • Low fever
  • Stomach pain
  • Loss of appetite
  • Jaundice

Less serious side effects

  • Restless /excitability especially in children
  • Dry mouth
  • Constipation
  • Dizziness
  • Blurred vision
  • Drowsiness
  • Sleep problems

Triotann Tablets Interaction

When certain medications are taken together with Triotann drug interactions could occur that may affect the efficacy of the medicines. It can even increase your risk for side effects. Triotann can interact with other medicines such as blood pressure medication; an antidepressant; a diuretic (water pill) and medication to treat irritable bowel syndrome resulting in side effects or altered effectiveness of Triotann.

Overdose symptoms may include:

  • Dilated pupils
  • Dry mouth
  • Nausea
  • vomiting
