Triptone

Generic Name:dimenhydrinate

Triptone is used for the treatment of nausea vomiting dizziness and motion sickness.

Triptone is also used as a sleep aid for patients suffering from insomnia.

Triptone is also used to treat other motion and balance problems such as feelings of dizziness/spinning and inner ear problems.

It is also used for purposes other purposes not listed here.

How to use Triptone Tablets

Triptone may be used as follows:

  • Triptone should be taken as directed by your doctor.
  • If you are unable to understand any of the directions ask your pharmacist nurse or doctor to explain them to you.
  • Always take each dose of Triptone with a full glass of water.
  • Always remember to measure the liquid form of Triptone with a special dose measuring spoon or cup and not with a regular tablespoon. If you do not have a dose-measuring device then get one.
  • Always take Triptone every 4 to 6 hours. Never take more than 400 mg of Triptone in a single day.

Cautions before Use Triptone Tablets

People with the following symptoms should not use Triptone:

  • An irregular heartbeat
  • Any other type of heart disease
  • Difficulty urinating
  • Bladder problems
  • An enlarged prostate
  • Glaucoma
  • Kidney or liver disease
  • Asthma
  • Never drive or operate any heavy machinery or perform any hazardous activity if you are using triptone as it can cause dizziness drowsiness or blurred vision.
  • Do not consume alcohol when using triptone as it may increase drowsiness and dizziness.

Triptone Tablets Side Effects

Stop using Triptone and call your doctor at once if you have any of these serious side effects:

  • Drowsiness
  • Dizziness
  • Restlessness
  • Excitation
  • Nervousness
  • Insomnia
  • Blurred or double vision
  • Dry mouth, nose or throat
  • Decreased appetite
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Difficulty urinating or
  • An irregular or fast heartbeat.

Triptone Tablets Interaction

When certain medications are taken together with Triptone drug interactions could occur that may affect the efficacy of the medicines. Triptone can interact with medicines such as antidepressants, alcohol, antihistamines, sedatives, pain relievers, anxiety medicines, and muscle relaxants resulting in serious side effects.

Triptone Tablets Overdose Symptoms

Overdose symptoms may include drowsiness, seizures or convulsions, difficulty breathing, and death.
